Madame Arabella Goddard. M'b3 Christian, and others to this country. Mr Smythe, who accompanied the Rev: Cbarles Clark to the Centennial, and through the United States and Canada, has returned to the colonies by the Limtania, to arrange another tour for the eminent lecturer. It was m New Zealand, nearly three years ago, that Mr Clark commenced tbat brilliant platform career which induced him to give up pulpit ministrations, except, m aid of some oharitable object ; and during that interval, m Australia, America and England, according to the Christian World, his reception has been equally enthusiastic with that accorded to him m this country. Since he was laßt here, Mr Clark has inude several addi. tions to his list of entertainmonts, which now includes lectures on the Tower of London, Cbarles Dickens (two lectures), Oliver..' Goldsmith, Christmas iv Old England, Thackeray, Oliver Cromwell, Westminster Abbey, the Merrie Monarch aud Macaulay. The lasb five lectures I have not been delivered m New Zetland. Mr Clark is expected at Auckland by the next- Californian njhil steamer, so that he may be looked for m WeJlington m ; about a montb.
