A-ugkland, last night. The Auckland police are investigating, a case, of enticing away Margaret Mdran, of Ouehuuga, and other youug girls, for immoral purposes. Alice . Browu, the wife of a labourer, at the Whau, attempted suicide, by cutting- her throafc with a table knife. She is seriously injured, and may not recover. The Acclimatisation Society received a box of bees from California, sent by Mr Thomas Russell. Nearly all the bees were dead.. This is the second attempt by Mr Russell to send bees. Grahamstown, last night. "A match, fired between- the Victoria Rifle Volunteer Com j any and Scottish was won by the latter, by 114 points. Highest score, George Clark, Thames, 56 out of a' possible 60.
