THE BRITISH POLICY. August 28. 7.25 p.m. Lord Northcote stated m an address at Plymouth that Britain's policy wns one of peace, but that if her interests required it she would fight, and the country had strength quite equal to the occasion. Unless her interests were assailed or endangered she would observe neutrality until some friendly intervention was possible, m order to end the desolating war.
