INNIS'S LEMONADE -AND GINGER-BEER MANUFACTORY, HAMILTON WEST.
The season for lemonade and ginger-beer, and cordials is quickly approaching, and it will be matter of congratulation for many of our readers m Waikato to learn that/ the business hitherto oarried on by Mr Johns, of Hamilton, will not be dis" continued now that he has left the district. Mr Innis has taken over both tbe business itself- and. the premises m which it was carried on, and has made several improvements already m providing facilities for producing a first* okas article at the lowest possible cost. One of these m a very perfect Opdd's machine for bottling all kinds of as >ated waters, whether soda water, lemonade or syrups from the aerating maohine into a patent bottle of peculiar construction. In lieu of a cork, the bottle is stopped with a small glass ball, which is forced by the compressed airin the bottle into its neck, hermetically sealing it. : The neck of the bottle, however, is ingeniously formed, so that when held on one Bide, the glass bait will not run up, but only when held oh the other, sd that a/ portion ;of the contents of the bottle may be poured from it, and simply by twisting the bottle round m the band, with a turn of the wrist, the liquid ceases to flow and the stopper hitherto held down, flies up the neck of the hettie, leaving the remainder securely air corked. In bottling off lemonade, there is attached to the machine a regulator for measuring, the exact quantity of flavoring syrup required for each bottle and no more. The small re-ervoir Alls, and a stroke of a piston immediately forces the syrup into the bottle m front of the aerated water. The only difficulty Mr lnnis is likely to experience is, m the regular Bupply of bottles of this patent, which are not procurable m the colony, but only from Melbourne. A large stock, however, for the season's supply has we are.told, been ordered. The other maohine, however, one of Taylor's, which works with the ordinary bottles, will enable the enter* ] prising manufacturer to meet the demand for these drinks, ; however great it may be, should the bottles specially required for the Codd's machine give <>ut. The establishment, though calculated to meet the requirements of the distriot m the teetotal hoe, is not unmindful of those who like something a little stronger, and ales and porters bottled at Innis's Te Awamutu Brewery are supplied from the Hamilton -establishment m connection with it, and also received from the former m bulk and bottled on the premises. There is a considerable stock of these m hand at the present time ; a good, sound wholesome ale porter, with plenty of body, good -flavour, and m excellent condition.
