IS HE NOT A MAN, ANO A BRUDDER.

Sir,— lt haa alwayßbeen understood that Hamilton is the head quarters of the specits of aristocracy named after that evanescent fruit of pastry, * Jam Tarts,' but which, in ita main feature?; strongly resembles snobbery. A better instauce of this was never shown, than a few days since, when the Rev Hatniora Ngaropi, a native minister, accompanied by a European friend, being in Hamilton, oalled at a Hotel which is supposed to be under the Bpecial patronage of the fashionable. The object was dinner, but, after being comfortably seated, the old gentleman was informed that there was not sufficient room in that building, except, perhaps, at the bar, for him. The Rev Hamiora and his friend put on their hats and departed, but found, at another part of the town, a refreshment room, where the views of the proprietor were not quite so extreme, but, the table infinitely better, however. This treatment of a -Native Minister, who has laboured in the pause of religion and the pakeha, for over a quarter of a century, is not calculated to increase the "admiration and respect which must be felt, by the original owners of the soil towards the enlightened and tolerant pakeha.— l am, &0., His Pakbha Friend. Whatawhata, August 10th.
