The City Surveyor has given employment to forty men m the formation of Collingwood-street. The Acclimatisation Society to-da/ considered that there was a great scarcity ot hen pheasants, and resolved that amendment of the present law was necessary for their protection. The street was strewn with wreckage ! Inspection proves that a stroke of. lightning which flashed vividly during the time the whirlwind was performing, caused much of the damage.
