35,000 RUSSIANS CROSSED THE DANUBE.
The Agent - General's telegram says : — • Thirty-fiee thousand Russians are south of the Balkans. A rising m Greece is expected, to acquire Ejdrus, M acedoniu, and Thessaly as a Greek province. ' The Turks having- withdrawn from Montenegro, the Montenegrins are resuming the offensive. The Turkish Cabinet, presided over by the Sultan, decided that should the Russians take Adrianople and advance towards the capital, the prophet's standard will be unfurled. This caused general consternation. 'London, July 23. The English Press approves of
the* despatch of British forces'to the Mediterranean. The Russians after severe fighting with heavy losses have taken and occupy Shibka Pass, on the B.i I leans. The- Russians occupied Lovacz after seveie fighting, and are now marching upon Siliatria and Baiv yardjik and besieging Rustchuk, on the Danube. " ENGLISH TROOPS FOR THE EAST.
