THE OPENING OF THE RAILWAY TO NGARUAWAHIA AND ITS ADVANTAGES TO THE ADJOIN. ING SETTLEMENTS.
Sir, — The Ist proximo will be hailed wish delight by all Waikato, when Ngaruawahia will be brought almost in close proximitt to AuokianH, ami the out'.iislricts of Waikato as near to Auckland, in point of time, as Drury and Waiuku were a few years ago. Now I gee that Cantor's coaches are to run daily from Ngaruawahia to- Hamilton and Cambridge, and tri-weekly from Hamilton to Alexandra. As Raglan is also to have a tri-weekly mail, I hope the Government will gi?e Carter the contract 10. carry tho Wai pa mails,, and that ho trill find it remunerative enough to run some kind of a conveyance on mail days as far as Whatawhatu, and when Palmer's road to Rnglnn (which t'.ey tell me In excel'eaca exceeds the most sanguine exp-.ctat.ion?) becomes a reality, as well as tho roirt complet.-d from Whatawhata to Alexandra, we shall see Carter's ciach taking mails and passengers to Raglan, as well as all the different places on ihe Waipi between Ngaruawahia and Alexandra. — I am, &c, T. B. Him,. Victoria-street, Auckland.
