HainiltOD, July 19th, 1577 Sia, —The means taken by large landed proprietors, ratepayers, public meetings, Koad and others, for the last few years.having failed to induce the Government and Legislature of the Colony to grant sufficient funds for the purpose of erecting a Traffic B'idge in a central position at Huinilfcon—the almost insupportable tax necessarily enforced upon the East and West Hamilton fioad Boards to maintain the Highways in an efficient state of repair for the still increasing traffic—the inadaptability of a punt f>r the requirements consequent upon such prpgr.ess,„,demands that immediate steps be taken by the districts most interested to at once meet the emergency. With this view I have the honor by direction of the Hamilton East Township Highway Board to request your co-opara-tion and assistance, and that you will be p.easod to bring this subject immediately before the board of wbicli you aru' chairman, so that an application may be made this session of Parliament for a private bill granting power to erect and maintain a Traffic Bridge in a ceutral position, crossing the river at Humilton.
