TAOTAOROA HIGHWAY DISTRICT BOARD.

by Mr Morris, that Mr H Fergusson take the chair. The Chairman, read the advertisement conveniog the meeting. . The Chairman of the lata board laid iupon the table, slatement showing how the ratea had been expended as follows :— Amounts received, £278 lis 2,1; made up of rates collected £118 16s 8d ; sabsonptions from Cambridge Highway District Board, £20; subsidies from Government, £126 9d ; balance m hand from last year, £13 13 i 9 J. Expenditure as follows :— Eepairs and improve* ™? ba > £20 1 9J ; purchase of materials, ?i i« /.'* P notin g and advertising, to 13i 61; miscellaneous, £4 13s 3d ; balance m hand, £43 13d Bd. Mr Bruce jar. proposed, and Mr tiewifct seconded, that the report and acoou>itsbe adopted. Mr Morris proposed, and Mr Hnut seconded, that tho rate for the ensuing year be 7d m the £. The following ratepayers were elected truateee for the ensuing -year -—Messrs tf Fergusson, Forrest, Hunt. McG-uire, and Morris, Messrs Bruce snr., and Bruca inr., were elected auditors and fencoviewers. Mr Bruce anr. proposed, and Mr Hewitt seconded, a vote of thanks to tho outgoing trustees, which was carried unanimously. A vote of thanks to the Chairman ended the proceedings.
