A club-house for the Cambridge Farmers' Club will shortly be an accomplished fact. The advertisement ia put calling for tenders, which will be received up to the 20th inst. by the architect, Mr Keals of A-ucklancJ. Plans and specifications may also be seen at the Bank of JSTew Zealand, Cambridge. We are glad to have this evidence of the permanent establishment of a society which is doing much to assist its members, and through the published report of its proceedings, new settlers in the district in the work of settlement. By the transmission, of experience from one to the" others and by the comparison of results, much valuable information in matters pertaining to the profitable working of Waikato lands has been brought forward for the general benefit. Nor- is it in this particular alone that the services of tbe Club have been valuable to the public. The discussious and essays have brought the district into notice not only in other parts of this Province, but in other Provinces and Colonies, and have served as the best possible advertisement, because a disin terested and indirect one, of the capabilities and advantages of Waikato as a field for settlement either by the small or large capitalist. There is yet another benefit the Club has been to the district. Without it we should have no active pablic body to represent our pastoral ancl agricultural interests, to inaugurate our ploughing matches and successfully carry out our agricultural exhibitions. The Cambridge Farmers' Club has shown its energy and ability as a representative institution of this kind, and has acquired for itself a prestige and a position which it deserves to retain
