CAMBRIDGE.
July, 9, 1877. The firing for the prizes by the Cambridge Cavalry Volunteers came off on Saturday. Captain Runcimaa in command. There were eighteen competitors, and the result was as follows: —
THE FOOTBALL MATCH. At the football match held here, on Saturday, for the Alexandra side, A. Bond and J Cooper did most service, and, for Cambridge, Mackintosh and Macneish played up remarkauly well. No goal was obtaiueel for either sile, therefore, tbe match was declared drawn. The Cambridge team was only a scratch one. In consequence of some little differences, our best players were not to the fore. Mr R Bruce, who met with the accident, has boen removed to Te Awamutu.— Own Correspondent.
