congratulate themselves on the appoint, ment of Sergeant MoGovern and his competent staff to the charge of the VVaikato district. They have already done good work and seem to have the entire confidence of the Magistracy, and are working well together, and will, no doubt ©re long, olear the neighbour, hood of those petty pilferers who have proved such a peat to sooiety for the last few months.— l am &c, Settler.
