inst,, when in charge of a horse and dray. Defendant pleaded guilty. The Court said the oharge was a serious one, as it came under the 100 th section of the Public Works Act. Sergeant McGovern, who. prose outed, said that as it was the first case that had been brought under the Act, the Police had' no desire to press the matter, and would be content with a nominal penalty. Fined 5s and costs, or 24 hours' imprisonment.
