RECOVERY OF THE BRIG DERELICT.
WELLINGTON. On Tuesday evening, the steamer Luna went out to look for the derelict brig Star of Mersey, and found her off Alligator Pomt — only a few miles from where she was supposed to have gone down. The vessel was riding with two anchors down, and no one on board.-. She had evidently been left m a hurry—the sextant, chart, oilskins, aud clothes being left behind.^ The vessel was m good condition, weil supplied with, provisions, and only two feet of water m the hold. She was pumped out, the anchors raised, (and she was towed into Wellington last night. 1 A lot of wreckage, consisting of a large gangway board (not usually; carried by coasters), a ship's after-hatcli irnarked A. 1., and a quantity of planking, was found on. Seventeen Mile Beach, north, of Gh'eymouth. A constable proceds as soon 'as, time will ', suit to enquire. ',
