The attention of School Committees and Teachers is-called to the Regulation of'the Board (page 9):—" Teachers must not absent themselves from their Schools on school days during hours, except on urgent business aed with the consent of the School Committee previously obtained : and the fact of tbeir having so asbented themselves must in all cases be notified in writing by the teachers to the Board of Education." This lule is to be understood 4 as intended to apply to every occasion (not being a holiday sanctioned by the Board) on which no school is held. 2. Head Teachers are required to report ' to the Board, and to the District School Committee, the absence, from whatever cause, of any Assistant or Pupil Teacher employed in their schools. 3. Committees and Head Teachers are also reminded that on no account whatever should any person be allowed to teach in a District School, without the express sanction of the Board. * 4. Teachers must also understand that they are not at liberty to pait with the key of the school at any time, or to give ' up possession of the Schoolroom during School hours, for any purpose, ex ce upon the 'written authority of the Committee or the Board. 5.
