THAT HARMONIUM.
Sir,— l have been waiting for Mr Jylaclaiii-iu's reply to the recent attacks made upon him, and certainly after the simple explanation afforded by- him, the Harmonium dispute assumes a very different aspect to what we would at first be led to believe. Such an attack places the party making it, to say the least, m a very unpleasant and Undignified position. As for Mr Maulaurin's spiritual efforts m Alexandia, it has beon from the first a marked instauce of throwing pearls before swine, and if anything were needed to complete the simile, thia attempt to rend his reputation, after he has left for everwould complete it. But few indeed are the Presbyterian preachers who have resided m Alexandra, that can have pleasurable recollections of that- progressive township, certainly not Mr Maclaurin, nor Mr Macullura. The latter gentleman, m fact, had scarcely arrived before he was called upon to defend himself through tho medium of the Press from attacks of this kind. — I am, &n, Chtjech of England. '
