After the first quarter of a mile, Venus Transit and Longlands drew away from the others and fought it ought between them. At the turn into the straight, Longlands was a quarter of a length a-head, but at that distance Mulgrave" collared him, and .the mare won by a length; time one minute twenty eight seconds. J
Selling Race. — Isaak Walton, Bst 7lbs, Ist; Shanneen, 7st 81bs, 2nd ; -Magician, 3rd.. ■ Won [easily by a length. In the Steeplechase, McGee declared, to win with Perfume. Connaught Ranger and Don, went away with the lead but refused the water jump; Butcher Boy, who had taken the hurdles at the second time of asking came through the other horsea and attained second place but at the made fence one stirrup broke. -Stephens continued tho race with only one stirrup riding and taking jumps, that way for nearly two miles. Perfume ' won by three quarters of a mile. Bntcher Boy jumped beautifully, and came m second. .Isleman passsd Oannaught Ranger m the last round and took third place.
Autumn Handicap.' — Hippocampus, Ist, Bide-a-wee, 2nd jv Ariel, 3rd, All the rest were scratched. This was a splendid race^ won by half a length. ■■ Ariel four lengths behind : Time three minutes seven, seconds. Produce sales, to-day : — Potatoes; 3s to 4s ; carrots, 2s 5d ; pumpkius, 2s ; onions, 2d to 2|4 ; hams, 4d half-penny; Provincial bacon, 7d.
