?To Conxbaotoks. — The Waikato County Cduucil are open to receive tenders up to the 12th proximo, for the formation of a. road on the Hamilton end of the Piako iSwainp, the survey of which has just been completed. Ia a fe»v days the survey of . the road line at the other end of the swamp road will be surveyed, and when this, some half-mile only, is formed the " new road to Piako, made eight miles shorter than at present, will be completed.

Chuhcih MEETim—The Rev Mr Calder will visit the Piako at the end of next week, and hold a meeting at the school -house on Saturday at 4 p m to afford; the people . of that place an oppor. tunity of considering; the desirability of making some arrangements for the regular holding of divine service at stated intervals in connection with' the English Ctiurch. The Bishop rode out to that district with tke same object during his recent , visit to Hamilton, but owing to the fact that he reached the Piako a day or two before the mails which conveyed the papers^ 'co-rtaihing the notice of his intended visit .and its objeot, the meeting did not come off. Mr Calder will remain at the Piako over Saturday, and hald divine serv'ica there on Sunday morning.

A Meeting of the Chbditobs in the estate of Mr HP Macpherson was held yeßterday,,at r! the Court House, Hamilton. 1 Present': Messrs N R Coi, D_,vis Hammond, and J Knox (ia the chair j! >The' following proxies were put ; in :-— Ridley J Wood, B Coleman, GB Beere, Vialou &i Co., and Martin. Debts to the amount of .8115 were represented by those^ npiresent, = and the proxies. . The trustee showed that debts to the extent of £181 16s 7d had been proved. The estate had realised £82 15s 2d. Tbe disbursements, in realising the' same amounted -to £43 13s 9d, ' leaving ; a balance to be divided among the creditors giving: a "dividend of 4s 34d in the £. On the motion of Mr Knox, seconded by Mr: Martin, the report was . adopted, and the dividend of 3s 4^ in the £ accepted, and on the* motion of Mr Hammond, seconded by Mr Ridler, the final discharge was granted.

Woods New Hotel, Puko. We learn,;. from a gentleman just returned from a trip to the Piako, that the new Hotel, to be ealled the Nottingham Castle Hotel, now building for Mr J Wood, will be ready for the paperhangers and painters in another week, and that before a mouth the building will be completed, lb ia spukeu of as being fully in advance of the _ requirements of the district for some time probably to oome, quiokly as that district is forging ahead. It contains over twenty rooms, and all modern appliances for comfort and convenience and, when completed, will afford ample and adequate accommodation for the Governor himself, and suite. The rooms are large, airy, and well lighted, an I what is of equal 'consequence in a country hotel, the atabiing accommodation will be ample and first-class also, with large coach-house, iu which a loaded dray may be received, -and placed under look and key, as well as shelter. That the house itself will be well conducted, and the accommodation all that the trr veiling public could desire, ia sufficiently guaranteed in the acknowledged respectability and business character for which Mr and Mrs Wood have been long known in Hamilton.
