GAME LICENSE REVENUE.
Sir,— lb is a great cUal easier for Mr X Hill to make the as3eibion that the majority of those who take out game licences m Waikato would prefer that the in<mey so paid should go 10 the fuuds of the Ac climutiaation Society, than it id to prove it. I too Lave spoken to a numl.er o^ such gentlemen ou tho subjec, and I iiud that either they caro very little where the money goes or would lather it went iv aid of some lo':al object. iSoiue thought the county funds, and others a,:ain the Agricultural Association or the fiaoe Claib. Tho fact ia, however, that
it is not the few who take oul licenses whose voicu is to bo listened to iv the matter, bnt the many who feed the game these gentlemen shoot. Ie is they who keep the birds, not the sportsmen, and they do not caro that the money received for the license fees should be handed over to a few gentlemen to do vfomb than make ducks and d«ake3 of — to spend m importing fre*h nuisances into the colony.- That peat the house sparrow is beginning to be felt m Waikato this season, and next year will make the Acclimatisation Society stink m the nostri s of the Waikafco farmers, — I am, &c, Cor/fITRr SETTLER. .
