Lyon with assault, was fined 20a, and bound over to keep the peace for 3 months, with coats, £2 lZsid. On.the Civil Side, the only case of public interest was, that of it.' Main waring v Hobson. It appears tha defendant had crossed the Ohote creek on plaintiff's land. Shortly after, plaintirf found a gate and some fencing broken/ i'owti and thrown in the creek, and knowing that defendant had passed that way, plaintiff charged him with the act, and claimed £1 for- damage cjbae. A number of witnesses were examined, but I bae, however, proved'that ; t'hVfeuce and gate were down before twelve o'clock on the day in question/ and defendant did*, not pass the spot till after one o'clock.
Thbre was no evidence to support the charge, aad the case was dismissed.
