RAILWAY COMMISSION AT ELLERSLIE.

TnE RailAvay Commissioners, after taking evidence at Onehunga, proceeded to Ellerslie, Avhere they examined- Mr Robert Graham, who" stated that the station at that place would be more conveniently situated for traffic if placed on the east side of the line, and he expressed his opinion that one man could take charge of the station, post-office, and telegraph ' office, at Ellerslie. He complained that the same fare was charged to Ellerslie as to Onehunga, and a person stopping at Ellerslie would have to pay double* a* Onehunga | Jming a ho'l lay only 9d was charged to Penrose, while 2s 9d yyofl charged to Ellorslie, which Avas much nearer. Mr Morrin had been charged 15s 6d for the conveyar.C3 of one sheep to Mercer, and he, Mr Graham had been charged 4s for one sucking pig. Mr Scarrott said he had used his buggy, since the railway opened . He complained that people Avero obliged to kill their pigs to dispose of them, the charges for the conveyance of liA r c stock being prohibitory.
