CHMBRIDGE ANNUAL CHURCH MEETING.

The annual meeting of the OambrlJge Anglican Church members was held on Saturday last, the Rev. MrCalder m the chair, - Tne Chairman read the statement of accounts for the year, and m doing so, said: The state of their finances was, however, more flourishing than this would lead people to believe, as a large portion of the annual- subscriptions were as yefe uncollected, owing tb the absence and indisposition of some members of the committee. , The meeting being about co proceed to tha usual election of churchwardens, The Cha.ib.m_AN aaid that powers were granted them, to appoint, m lieu of the three churchwardens, nine vestrymen. Mr Ashwell accordingly proposed " That they elect a vestry of nine members." Mr Parker seconded. The motion was carried nemcon. The Chaibman nominated, as his vestryman, Mr Hewitt. -The following eight gmtlemen were then nominated and duly elected :--Messrß Parker, Webber R Reynolds, Hicks, Brunskill, Smale and Smith. . : . . On the motion of Mr Hewitt, Messrs Ashwell and Stuart were appointed auditors. Mr. Ashwell proposed a vote of thanks lo the choir. , Mr Hewitt seconded. The ChAibman, on putting the 'motion to the meeting, said he hoped that this: would have the effect of spurring the choir on. He , was sorry to see ib so scanty m number as it had become. The motion was carried. A vote of thanks to the Sunday-school teachers and one to. the chairman brought the meeting to a termination.
