TRAIN UP A CHILD &C.

Sir. — A sad case was brought before the R M of Hamilton on Tuesday last, referring to tbe mal-appropriatiou of a hive of .Bees. The two Bee-fanciers, were of the ages of twelve and ten respectively, a pretty early period of life for them to •make their debut m the Hall of Justice, yet to judge from appearance, they did so, with the greateafc sangfroid. It is to be hoped that the go and-sin-no more caution administered to them may not be thrown away, or lead to a greater difficulty. There are times, and cases, no doubt, when such a caution hast le deaied effect, but unfortunately m many, very many instances the most merciful view to be' taken of such acts is to send such delinquents to a place specially prepared for such cases, where boys are taught to fear God, obey the law, and are trained up to lead a useful life and not be a bnrthen to themeelves and a pest to society, lfc is high lime that the compulsory cb>us<s of the eduoation Act were brought into opera! ion. There are scores of boys who spend their time m breaking fences, pilfering wood and fruit, and who never see the inside of a school. — I am, &c, Reform:. Hamilton, Feb Sth, 1877.
