Waikato Times Office,
Wednesday evening. •, MR A BUCKLAND'S SHEEP FAIR. Yesterday was the first day of the Remuera Sheep 'F«rir of 1877, and fully sustained the reputation acquired by Mr Alfred BucMund in former years. About 16,000 sheep were disposed of in 350 lots, the bidding being kept ud without flagging, erea during a portion of the afternoon when the rain was falling heavily. Mr" Perkins may well be complimented on the handsome appearano of the tables, each of which could accommodate 1&0 guests. The sale commenced shortly af er om o'clock, and continue'! till seven. Thj quality of the animals submitted may be estimated by the prices realised, when it is borne in mind ihat undoribtedly just now the deman I is by no means in excess of the supply. The li-t of lots sold would orcupy a column of space. In our next we will give some of the principal sales "Mr K Hill reports that at Mr J P Neal's sale at Te Awamutu, on Monday last, the attendance was good. The live stock consisted entirely of sheep — for which there was scarcely any competition -—half-bred lambs from 2s 3d to 3s 9d ; Merino Ewes from 2* to 5s 3d. Cottage and. acre of ground, £190.
