"On Tue&flay evening considerable excitement was censed in Hamilton by tb/e report «hat the A 0 party at wor^ on t' ie -CVmb/idge and Taupo road had bepn stopped t>y order of Te Ngafcau on behalf •of the King, lhe intelligence was brought "in, it appears, by Capt Morrison to Gambridge and telegraphed to head quarters •in ■Hamilton. The report bo far was correct, though the authorisation of Te Ngitiau by the King is questioned. The parly •ceased work, but instruction received from the Native Minister order the work to be proceeded with, and Dr Pollen bim>eelf may be exi ected on the spot in the ■course of to-day .or to-morrow. Col Lyon left yesterday for Cambridge en route for fhfjteajirp of the road parly. A party of flvS?^f the force, discharged from service arrived at head quarters yesterday.
