ALFRED BUCKLAND'S REPORT At tbe IJ»yai»rket, on Fridaj last, foddsr was in limited quantity, and at late valuei ; bon^dust brought 7a 6d the cwt ; home stook of a good cass were in foil supply, with no alteration in rallies ; ponies and inferior hones, from £4 10s to £8; light harness horse", £9 to £18; medium draft, £16 to £27; heavy draft, £40 to £48 ea«h. Hides and akins were in larger supply than for many weeks, with a steady enquiry at a alight advance in values ; best quality of bides brought 3|d per lb ; pelts, 4d ; sheepskins, 2* 4d to 4*rach ; bags of wool, in gseaso. 7£d to bi ; washed wool, lO*d to 12fd the lb. At the wool sale on Tuesday a tnuoh larger number of bales were told than advertised. There were a numerous atttndauco of buyers, and prices were abou j I}<l per lb higher than expected by the majority of sellors. The wool generally was of good quality, and in better condition th»n usual. 292 bales were sold ; prices obtiiined ranged, for wool in grease, from 7d to 9|d ; washed wools, IOJd to 14d the lb. Flax and tow are coming forward in considerably in or eased quantities. Flax is lower, fioji the highest point reached, 40s the ton, and may be quoted from £19 to £24.. Tow is accumulating rapidly, and is unsaleable, except in small parcels, at £8 the ton. At Re muera, on Thursday, dairy cattle were in usual supply and good inquiry. Storo 0 ittle in moderate numbers, and at late values. Fat cattle in average supply — 120 hsad penned —bidding dnll throughout, and some wore withdrawn, b it on the whole, last week's values were sustained ; 1)9 head were sold to the trade. Sheep in full supply. Tbtne in their wool were •lighlly higher than lust w< etc } shorn hheep at previous values. Fat lambs in exoesa of requirements, and fell 2s per head aa the »ule proceeded. Pigs in mod- rate numbers and late values Prices obtained were —Dairy cows, £7 to £10 10* ; fnt cattle, 25s to 28s the lOOlbs ; fit vretherx (in their wool), 3J.1 j thorn, from 'did to 2\ the lb ; fit lambs of good quality, 10s to 14s ; inferior, from 6s each.
