Dunedin, ltit night. The flon Geo McLean hud an interview with Mr Macandrew, and wanted him to carry on the aff uri of the Province till the counties are formed in the middle of December. A tremendoui fire occurred »'. two yesterday morning, Ewart'i Hotel, Telegiapb Office, Post Ofß-e, Court House, Ihe Government Buildings, Litchfield, draper, Mason Hotci, Cmb, Cart or and Taits stores, Litctafield's grocery, Uuitwicb, drnggut, Hunter, jeweller, Augustus's shop (empty), Lewis, fancy goods, " Murlborough Press"ofßce, Wood, WutoUnuker, Laurence, general store, Wurner's old Bhop, Kogers, solicitor, Campbell, painter, Smith, tinm.in, and two cottages were all burnt to ashes. The value of the property destroyed ia eitimated at £25,000.
Taubanga, Friday. Since the Kaimai committee fa»re ceased interference, the Gorernment hare taken up the matter. Mr Brabant having thrown up bis leare has returned to Taurungs. He holds a meeting at Whareora to-morrow.

Kivkbtom, Thursday. ABOLITION DAY CELEBRATED. Tne celebration of the abolition of the province* yesterday was observed by a general holiday, although no pubic demomtration was made, in oomequence of being unable until the last moment to Ascertain the d&te of the prorogation of the Aesenibly.
