RESIGNATION OF THE MINISTRY•On the House meeting to-day, the Premier uiiDOunced that slier the report ot the (^qualification committee yesterday, and in deference to the wwb. of a ranjoricy of the lifiU'6, it had bean deem >d desirable that hij'oolleagues in the i£xeoutire Council sliould resign, and his eight colleagues hid accordingly temlered their resignations. He would this afternoon reconstruct the Government so that it should include only six members in addi ion to himself. Sir Donald McLem and Dr Pollen woro excepted ; but it is understoo I that against the former the amouat will be about £12,000, and agaimt the Utter £17,000. The plaintiff (Sir George Grey) •ties the defendants under sejtiou 12 of Disqualification Act for £100 per day— m all £61)0. Eight days allowed for pleading. The declaration against Mr WluUUor hat four counts, and claims £6.000 : First, that be has sat in the Home while interested in the Pidiio Swamp contract ; aecoud, that ha has bee« oonoerned in the contract while sitting ; third, that he has sat while Att >racy-General ; and fourth, that he has sat while holding ofibe with eight other*.
