THE SEPARATION DEBATE, PROBABLE RESULT.

Sir George Grey's speech in moving the financial separation resolutions will be found in our telegraphic columns. The debate was continued yesterday evening, and judging from the fact that Mr Rees had, up to the closing of the telegraph office, spoken five hours on the motion, we may presume that it is intended to make it a prolonged discussion. :From reliable information received, we are in a position to predict that the resolution will be lost by a majority of from ten to fifteen.

Government Stores — Mr Kennedy Hill will shortly offer for sale a quantity of condemned goods, tools, &c. at the Government store Hamilton.

The Sons of Ulster are summoned to an extraordinary meeting of their Lodge, to be held this evening in the Victoria Hall.

Timber. — Mr George Edgcumbe, of Ngaruawahia is, it will be seen, prepared to supply timber suitable for bridge building, both piles and planking.

The Raglan and Kawhia Quarterly Licensing Meeting is advertised to be held for the transaction of the usual business, on Tuesday Sept 5th, at the Court House, Raglan, at noon.

Rifle Association. — The adjourned meeting of all those desirous of forming themselves into a Rifle Association is advertised for this evening at 7 o'clock, at the Royal Hotel, Hamilton East.
