Ws feel oonfidoat therefore, in draw ing attention to his adrortisemont in another column, that it only needs to be pointed out that Ben Edwards has taken ctubles to enture succeis to his renture. We observe that he has reduced the price of a fued to It 61. A change which we think, ought long ago to have open made. We prophecy a considerable share of public patronage for his stables.

Tnß JTOABtTAWAHIA. FBLLMOIfGSRy.— Soiul' month • iince, we drew attention to the opening that existed in the Wnikato district for th« establishment of a fellmongery, and pointed out Ngaruawahia as, perhaps, tho best suited, from position, for the establishment of a local industry of this kind. We are glad to see *.hat tht matter ha« beei actively taken up, and our advertising columns now disclose the fact that Messrs Carpenter and Byron, having engaged the semues of an experienced folltnonger, are prepared to buy •heep-»kins in large or small quantities, d Hrered on board any of tho Waikato 4te*tn«ri. We trust the enterpriie will receive the local encouragement it deiiarvei. Settlers should even strain a point to give the preference to a local undertaking ol this kind, for their future prosperity, as agriculturalists will depend in a large degree bye and by, in tho encouragement they may now give to enterprises of every kind which will bring to th-ir doon a non-food-prod uoing population. There is another industry which we would eommund to the notice of our Ngaruavrahia ■friends. A bono mill should be a pacing speculation m this distriot, and the number of Bhi*p and oxen sla-ughtered n the Waikato, the bonei of which are lying unutiFUed all over the country, would produce a considerable aupply of fertiiiiine manure, and form a profitable industry in \Ut>\i, »i it would .reudily compete with tbe Auckland artiole, ai undoubtedly pure and produced upon th» spot.

Tun Hull still stands bidly m need of internal i uprorements, such as lining, &s, but it has of course, been tk 3 object of the present Committee to first pay off, a* fur as pos ible, the debt on the Hall bef«rs incurring any fresh liabilities, beyond what were really neoeseary. As stated in the advertisement calling the meeting, it will be the duty of those subscriber* present to .elect a new Committee for the ensuijg yeir, and it in. iy reasonably be expected that they will be able to come bsforo jou at tho next annual meting wiih a balancesheet showing a balance on (the right, tide, and no heavy hibihtiei, and thi-t no doubt will be the case should the public only back them up as they have done us.
