In the House yosteiday, the following uotioe was given by Mr Wlritaker whon in OuniD>ittee on the ' Provincial Abolition financial Arrangements Bill, to move " That clauses G, 7, 8, 9, fnd 10, be omitted, and in the; lieu thereof, that the following- clauses to come into operation on the 30th September next be inserted. : 'Ist, nil revenue aiising from the waste land of the, crown is part of Her Majesty's consolidated revenue of the Colony. 2nd, All sums of money and expenditure heretofore charged on revenues arising from waste lands of the 1 Crown are , hereby charged on and made payable out of Her Mjijosty's consolidated revenue, and also all assets a.nd liabilities of the several Provinces are **asets and liabilities of tho Colony, provided that any ea&h in hand on tho iiOfch day of September, 1876, received from waste lands of the Crown shall be expended in the Provinces in which it has been received on snch public works not otherwise provided for as the Assembly shall determine." Mr Wakefield is to move on the motion forgoing into Committee of Supply, -'That this House do rcaolvo itself into a committee ut' the whole, to consider the following resolutions : — The gross proceeds [of all land sales or leases, either fop pastoral or mineral purposes (except, with respeot to the gold fields) to bo ohargoablo I with the expenses of the land and survey I departments, afteiifiiich deduction one-half of the net revenue from those sources to be Colonial Revenue, the other half to bo paid to the local governing liodies of the distriot within which Bush revenue is to be raised." The resolution, which is lengthy, goes on to specifying a variety of services to be defrayed from the colonial revenue which under tho Local Government Bill would fall on the counties. The Premier moved postponement of Counties }Bill till Friday, as the Government wanted time to consider Messrs Whitaker aad. Wakefield's motions. The Governor recommends a vote of £3,000 for the' late Dr Featherstone's family.
