Tuesday, July sth, In tlie House last night, Sir Donald McLean contradicted the false and malicious statements that Maori murderers were present at tlie interview between T.uvhiao and himself. At the conclusion I of the budget speech Grey attributed corrupt motives to Government in raising the pi ice of land. The following resolution was carried, " That whereas this committee has under consideration the question, of increasing 1 duriug present session the price of waste lands of the Crown throughout a great part of the Colony, to a price not exceeding 1 £2 per acre, it is resolved by Committee, that if any such increase is made during the present Session, it will take effect as to all sales made on and after the sth July, 1876, and until the end of the Session, and that as to all such sales the purchaser shall be required to pay such increase; and further, that the resolution be forwarded to tho several waste lands boards and Commissioners of Crown lands, iv order that the terms may bo made known to intending purchasers, provided always that this resolution shall not effect lands sold on deferred payments." 8.30 pm.
