PROPOSED CODIFICATION OF THE LAW. When Judge Richmond arrives in the colouy the Government do not propose to put him on the Bench ; on the contrary, it is intended to give him a liberal salary tmd competent assistance for two or three years, during which he will be employed in codifying and reducing into comprehensible form the statutes of the colony.
