Sin, — I Mrda yesterday, as reported by your Correspondent, Snml for being in ponession of a rifle on waite landi of tho Q-overnment. But I hare unexpectedly, the hardest hit from your paper, if that were necessary to my dtserts, added to the most sorere reading of the Act by the Justice. If I may judge tho gross mil-state' ment of your Correspondent " that I denied possession of the gun" by another, and immaterial portion of the evidenoe which he gives in preference to the general evidence that was undoubtedly in my favour, I can only think him intentionally partial. If an untruth has been spoken it is in the libellious statement I complain of. A denial of the gun neither occurred nor tran* spired in evidence. — lam, &c, J Williamson. Ngaruawahia, 6th June, 1876.
