Produce, sales to-day : Wairoa cheese realised 6d to 6£d ; bacon, 4^d to 10£ d ; butter, 4Jd to Is; pumpkins, 4s to 4s 6d per owfc j potatoes, 3s 9d to 4s 3d ; onioas, 3s to 4s. The mortality reports 21 deaths in the city this month against 36 for the corresponding month last yeftr. Rogers, a hawker, endeavonred to seize Mortou, of Grant* and Morton, by the throat in the auction mart. \ Wellington, last night. The report that Government intended to propose another loan of six millions originated with Mr Gillon, of the Argus, who promulgated it through the Southern popers that he is corresponding for. It is believed there is not the shadow of foundation in it. The ' Australia,' without the San Francisco mails, sailed north this afternoon.
