The first bid was JIIOO, tho second £150, and the bidding then went on by twenties and tens up to £310, when it dropped to £5 bids, and was eventually knocked down to Mr James Moore, of Hamilton, for 1330. After the lease of the ferry Mr Knox sold a number of Government horses at fair prices.
