One object of this undertaking, then, is to secure this very desirable cud, and the promoters rely with confidence upon tho public to .usist them in their effort* to obtain a Public Recreation and ltacing Ground for tho ProTinceof Auckland. The sum of £<3,00'J required for this object shall be \csted in five Truitrees, members of the Committee, appointed at a duly convened meeting, who shall hold the «nid sum upon trust to acquire therewith the freehold of the ■bo\e grounds, and hold the same upon trust as ,1 Kccreation and. Racing Ground for the public of the Province of Auckland. And the same trustees ihall have vested in them power and authority to make all necessary and proper lulcs, by-lawo, and regulations for the management of all Racing and other Meetings, Games, Sports, Shows, Exhibitions, Entertainments, Cricket and other Matches, to b« held on the grounds or any part thereof. '2. The second object which tho promoters have in view, i c., th« collecting of a sum of money for tho Fncouragcmcnt of Agriculture and Industries In tho Province of Auckland, merits the snpport of those who take an interest in such pursuits. From this source it is proposed to ernct suitable permanent buildings upon the grounds beforo alluded to, in which Agricultural and Industiial Show* tan be held, and which will bo available generally for the advancement of such object*. The payment to Charitable Institutions in this Province of a«um of i.tWJ should ncoure to this undertaking the hearty co-operation of all benevolent persons. Thin amount will be appropriated by a sub-oomraittee that shall be appointed by the General Committee At t> duly convened meeting for that purpose1 Tho Arrangement of the various prizes (which gives one pri/* in every ten tickets), and their large value will, it is hoped, induce the general public to take shares in this Art Un ; on, and thus whilst securing wkat rany be a profitable investment, assist the promoteu in carrying out successfully the purposes of this Art Union.

CONDITIONS.
