Two leamen attached to H.M.S. « Pearl,' whose names we immortalised in our last issue as runaways from that vessel, recently made a most determined — we were nearly writing — plucky, attemptto escapecustody on board the * Quickstep * during' their passage to Auckland, to which classical oity they were remanded by our worthy Resident Magistrate last week.
