CAMBRIDGE. March 12th, 1876,
I am sot ay that my remarks on the culvert at Martyns should hava been under- 1 stood to blame the party at work there for slowness. If slowness there is in the matter therp ig in the matter, as I stitl say there is, it is certainly not the fault of ths small narty stationed there, but rather of the authoritiei in not setting more raeu on, I may seera idle to thus cast blam« broad cast Hi'ound and I would be very sorry to do it. My Bole object in writtincf of the matter at all, was to dravv attention to the method, and not to the manner— surely the present? dangerous state of the bridge — which is so rotten that any on* can put their foot through the stringers — • is exciwe almost for anything. The attendanca at the ichenl is etill very srtiall> but the genera! health of the plaoa is improving* — Own Corrkspondeni:.
