0 ioul ! and it this thy reward For all the year* of toil and strife | Hie jacet ? Saall theso words record The aolema history of a Ufa! No other vrord! Aye! thi* is all. The busy earth Will still more on, and noVerhcol The home wborefrom it baniihad mirth, The qui«t hearts that bleed and bleed, The darkened hearth! She only stoops upon tbe sand And writes his nvaie to tell his r*ca That he was worthy in the land, But waves will come and loaro no twos Upon the strand. Yet though the world remembers not His namn ! ho will nor rec** nor care He litos in maay a tender thought, Remembered in each ferrent prayer With tear* uabought !£ He lireth in tbe lorad one's hearts As freih as when he walked the eiirtU, And all the trifling tone* wH fcrti Will make the dearth seam Ibis a dearth, And fill their purti! 0! take the cbanoeP* «oulptured tomb Wbtrj mellowed lunbcimi fall across, I will ie where the wild-dower* bloom, The low white stone and whwpeSiug mot!
