CAMBRIDGE. March 29th, 1876.

A meeting of subscribers was held at the "National Hotel" on Saturday last, for the purpose of deciding what steps were necessary to erect suitable saleyards. Mr Kirkwond, who occupied the chair stated that the Government had given permission to place the yards on the reserve asked for. He also said that Mr A Buokland had promised to supply them with plans to work by. After some discussion it was decided to proceed with the erections as soon at possible. There ia much sickneßS at present iv Cambridge, principally that known as " Colonial" fever. There are over a dozen cases under medical treatment, The want of a resident medical man is greatly needed, the settlers seem to have let tbo matter drop at the very moment when they should b» using their beat endeavours to get one. Owing to the prevailing sickness, the attendance at the school has been reduced greatly daring the last fortnight, and they have been irery wisely granted a week's holiday. — Own Correspondent.
