Deliveries of neir grain are coming to hand elowly, has threshing has been somewhat retarded by damp wo&ther during the week. English telegrams indicateafurtber fall in the wheat market, and merchant!, in view of the unprecodenteuly large surplus available for export from America, seem rather loth to risk shipments to the home market at 'the present cost of wheat and Tate of freight. Millers having been unablo to get doliver of their purchases quick enough, - Gs' 9d has been freely paid for firat-class samples of wheat for immediate" delivery. Large sales of oat»ihave been made, and the threshing returns, in 'some instances, have been unusually -large. ,- Barloy is in less demand, as our brewers and maltsters have secured sufficient stocks for immediate wants. Dairy -and produce ia still in good request, and supplies are coming to hand more freely. The following are buyers' quotations for delivery at the Christ church railway station : —Wheat, 3s 9d ; oats, Is 6d to Is 7d ; barley, 3s to 3s 3d; butter, Od to Old; cheese, 7Jd to 8d ; grass seed, 4s 6d.
