Tiie match between the eleven of the Revd Mr Davis school, and 10 of the Hamilton District School came off on Saturday, on the Hamilton Cricket Ground, a large number of spectators being present. There was nn ample supply of refreskoiPiits solid and liquid ou the ground, kindly furnished by Mrs Gwynne and others, fjr both teams and other youngsters -present, and juvenile Hamilton showed its appreciation of the good things in the most unmistakable manner by puttfttg itself outside of them within the first ten minutes of the twenty allowed them for tLo purpose in the middle Of the "diy. Mr Danvers the master of the Hamilton District School made the sixteenth of that team in consideration of Mr Davis boys being allowed the advantage of the play of Mi 1 E Pilling who though not a scholar of Mi f . Davis is the Capt of the Bchool teai^.i .There was some very good play tin both sides but the beaten team played loosely, and might have won easily, but that they lose near a dozen runs by running short and some two or three of their best men 'allowed themselves to be slumped but *by the wicket keeper through not carefully 'keeping their.gvound. On the side of the District School tea in the batting of Hyde was remarkably good the largest score being from his bat. The match which commenced at 11 o'clock, WftS concluded at 4 pm, the District School team »vinning by three runs. >
