The bazaar and concert eventuated last •■night, andy/a3d v/a3 a brilliant suceesa in every .partioßlrtP. Over 200 persons were present. The various articles realized sjj'endid prices. The lidies of the committee may well be proud of their successful endeavours in the cause of the Church.

Auckland, Last Night. The shipbuilders here are aroused by statements that the American yacht " Peerless " is superior to any Auckland built vessel, and h ive resolved to ran the yacht' " Secret " against her for a fifty mile race. The v Governor arrives to-morrow. A cordial reception is expecteJ. The ship Ardvar has arrived from Glasgow, with eight passengers, all well ; voyage 113 days. She brings 89 pure bred sheep, out of 96 shipped by Mr Thomas .Russell. A steamer, of thirty tons, to be em. ployed between Ta-uranga and Opotiki, connecting with the s.s. " Rowetia/' was launchel by Messrs Nicols to-day. The Working Men's Horticultural Show was a great success.

IAUJtANQA, Wednesday night. ' Re the lace suspicious case of euiukle at Ohinomutu, a verdict that deceased coinraittei suicide while ia a stato of strong mental excitement, was received w'th general satisfaction by the natives.
