KIHIKIHI. February, 1 1876.
TriE annual meeting for the election of a school committee was held -in the schoolroom, on Monday evening last. Mr P Corboy v/as voted to the chair. MiAndrew Kay, the late chairman, read the financial statement, shewing a small balance remaining in hand, which, it w.is stated, was barely tiullicicnt to meet existing roquiiements occasioned by the furnishing of the girls sewing-room and other incidental expenses. Kir liothery, the teacher, read extracts from the records of the school, shewing a marked increase in the mi in her of pupils attending the day school duiing the last half-yean. A night school was open during the winter months which gave general satisfaction, and was also well attended by the youth of the neighbourhood. The following residents wore duly proposed and elected a committee for the current year : — Messrs Andrew Kay (Chairman), W A Cowan. T Andoison, VV Corboy, and J Favrell (Sccictary.) A vote of thanks to the chair closed the proceedings. — From a i Correspondent.
