Sisterly Advice.
Tite travelling agents who visit Vicksburg have a new and important way of getting at business. The other day when one rapped at a door it was opened but an inch or two, and the woman called out : ' Don't want anything !' 1 Madam,' called the agent, ' you bavo a sister?' ' Yes,' was the answer, and the door opened a little more. •And you haren't heard from her ; lately ?' ! 'I>o.' 'Then you don't know that— that she—' The woman opened wide the door, and excitedly asked : ' What is it ? what has happened to her?' 1 Then you haven't hoard ?' ' No— nc — is Lucy dead ?' 'Tour sister; madam, is not dead, but -but—' 1 But what? 1 she wildly inquired, a& ho (tepped^up beside her.
' Your sister, madam,' be replied unlocking his valise, 'purchased five boxes of this superb magical bluing of me, and earnestly entreats you to try at lenst one box — price, only fifteen cents.' obe didn't appreciate his tricka. As he passed through the gate, she glanced down at her feet, and then at his coat tail, and sighted, ' Oh, I wish I weighed a ton !'
