THE CAMBRIDGE SCHOOL DISTRICT.

'9?HI8 district, which w«s altogether too large for (practical purposes has, it will be seen by the ' subjoined extracts whioh we take from the Prorincial Gorernment " G-azjtte," of the I4lh iin*tant, been subdivided, a portion of it beiag 'thrown into the new district of Hautapu, now •proclaimed. This hat of course necessitated an alteration of the boundaries of the original 'Cambridge Educational District. The district of Hautapu or that portion of it <xnoit centrally situated for * school-homo id some five mile* from the town of Cambridge, -and will probably muster some thirty 'School children. Thus it will bo seen that special pro Titian was absolutely needed. The nivr B*>ard, •the meeting for the olention of which, we ace, u notified to be held on Thursday next, the 27th tinibaat, at the house of Mr J LI bmitli, at 4 pui., will hive up-hill work of it at iirsi. There U no school-house, nor, we are informed, .for the matter of that any building or room in the dutrict suitublo for (he purpose which can bo ■ rented. The inhabitant! will have to take the 'ini»tfer vigorouslyin hand and subscribe a buildling fund, to which no doubt the Central Board will liberally respond. With the exception of .Hamilton West, anl doubtlesi there u good ■reason for tho conduct of the Central fiojrd in that case, Country Educational Boards haye'had do cause to complain of want of attention or care at the hand* of the Central Board or its officers, and no doubt the just n quirt ment* of H.iutupu will receiye e?ery lonoiderdtiim at thoir ■hands The following atse the boundaries of the ■new district :—: —

Comprising all taat portion of the parish of 'Hautapu bounded toward* the north-east and east by the confiscation boundary line; tovtards the south by the Waikato river, nud towards the west and north by the Hautapu Educational •Dutrict; ftlso all that portion of tho Fukekura Highway District bounded towardi the north by the Wiikato river from tho northeastern ongls of lor 19 of the parish of Fukekura to the eon- • flacation boundaryiline ; towards the eouth-eabt and south-west by the bounda-y line of the Pukekura Highway District to the north-caatern t>ngl« of lot 805 of the parish ot Puniu ; and towards the north-west by a line from angle last juraed to the south-eastern angle of lat 112 of *the parish of Pukekura ; and thence by tho .eastern boundaries of lots 112, 108, 29, 18, and :19, all of the parish of Pukekura aforesaid to ( tiie Waikoto river.
