CAMBRIDGE. December 17th, 1875.
A loiree was kohl in the Sohool-room, on Wednesday last, in celebration of the WVslevan Anniversary. The generally broken-up state of the coustrj coupled with the rain that fell to*aid« the evening prevented a large number from attending. Ike Pakerimu people especially were met by obstacles that were insurmountab'e However everybody present seemed to thoroughly enjoy thennselrei. Perhaps 'hey had in their minds an adage which says " Tke fewer, the better cheer,*' I hope not, ioc I am » firm b 1 orer in that other which tells us 14 The ui«re the merrier." (I a.usb be understood to refer lo tea-meetingn only, for ev#»« thi* one is not always true ) V«ry tastefully -were the tables decorated, very lavishly were the luxuries of life spread upon them, and very gracefully did fair hands pour out the heverA^e that cheers, but not inebriates, and administer the good things, and, hs I have hinted, the good things had full ju-ticadone them. After te.i, the rooai having betjn cleared-, the company Batdown to another feast- "^u. 4^ as abnndiut »a the first, but of a different kind, for myself f m n ay tkat I hive seldo n spant a more onjoyable evening, and Ido not bolieve lan the on'y one who so "expresses himself.
