Wool. — English commercial news by the mail does materially alter our previous ndvicos. Tbe circulars confirm telegraphic reports of the decline in wool, and again speak in terms of condemnation of the condition in which New Zealand wool is packed foy shipment. So largely has this affected transactions at the last series of sales, thst the ruling prices cannot fairly be compared with those of the previous year, when the wool was in better condition. Now that this matter has been brought thus prominently under the notice of breeders, v/e trust there will be an improvement. The sales, since the close of the last series, appear to have been small, and the rates of the last sales were expected to rule at the fourth sales of the series. In America we note sales at New York of 150 bales New Zealand wool at 44c. The market there, and also in Bostou, seems active.
